BMW e36 328is Idle Control and Crankcase Vent Valve Replacement
Tools Needed
- 10mm wrench
- 10mm socket
- 13mm socket
- Ratchet
- Flat screw driver
- Brake parts cleaner
- New Crankcase Valve
- New rubber hose from CCV to Oil Pan
- New plastic tube from valve cover to CCV
- New rubber seal or CCV
Start by removing the clip and 10mm bolts that hold the intake manifold cover in place.

Remove the 10mm bolts that gold the air box and sensor to the car.

Remove the mass airflow sensor and air box.
|
Remove the alternator duct.
|
Remove the intake boot and set aside
|
Remove the bracket that supports the intake manifold use the 10mm socket on the bolt on the manifold and 13mm socket on the bolt on the block. Also remove the plastic tube that connects to the valve cover.

Remove the ASC and throttle body that is attached to the intake manifold they are held on by 10mm bolts
|
Remove the CCV it is held on by 3 10mm bolts.
|
Remove the rubber hose that connects tot he oil pan.
|
Remove the three bolts that hold the ICV and oil dipstick to the manifold.
|
Remove the ICV and disconnect the sensor.
Reverse the process and you are all done.
